  1. APPRECIATE EVERY NEW DAY AS SPECIAL

Everyday is special are the words of a woman called Annie Wells; these words should make you sit back and think. The scriptures declare that: “now is the accepted time, behold now is the day of salvation” (1 Cor.62b).
Every second, minutes, hour or day is new and special, God wants us to make good use of them (Eph.5:15-16). The Psalmist joyfully declared: “This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it”. Now is the time to do what you have always wanted to do favour God’s assignment upon you tomorrow might be too late.

There is also this story of a man who lost his wife and was preparing for the funeral rites. He decided to check his wife’s wardrobe for the clothes he would package to the mortuary. He stumbled on an expensive silk dress when the wife brought several years ago awaiting a special occasion for it to be worn. She never had the chance again to wear it alive; she rather wore it to the grave. In pain, the husband exclaimed “DON’T SAVE ANYTHING FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION; EVERYDAY IS SPECIAL. Man’s days on earth are numbered. For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knoweth the power of thine anger? Even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. He prays for the knowledge and perceptible experience of God's good providence. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. (Ps. 90:9-12). The story should make you realize and change your perspective on how to live better. You have no control over today. Live your best life today; stop procrastinating what you can do today tomorrow for your today determines your tomorrow. Whatever would bring joy to you and others do it now. What have you been procrastinating?

Wise up now, forgive that offence, go back to school, change your job, start that business, pray for your loved ones, bless somebody financially, take care of your parents, be a worker in the house of God, assist the widow and orphans, build the Church of God, spend more time with your kids, take care of your spouse, go on a vacation or take time out to rest. If you have 24 hours to live, what would you do before it’s over, ponder and meditate on this, if its worth seeing, hearing or doing, do it today. Our Saviour Jesus Christ lived for only 33years and accomplished his mission before He went back.

Decide now to do the things you have been putting off. Make today special, live today as if it were your last. Enjoy your day and make the best of it. Live one day at a time. God bless you all in Jesus name Amen.
